Who am I ?
My name is Mike Curran and I’m a seven-year resident of Mountain House!  Currently, I teach full-time at Ohlone College in the Kinesiology and Physical Education department.  I am also the head baseball coach, where in 2017, we finished with the school’s best season in it’s 50-year history, with a 42-7 record and a Coast Conference Championship and CCCAA NorCal Regional, Super Regional, and Sectional Championships! In 2018 and 2019, we finished 39-8 and 37-12 respectively, and ended up in the Final Four as well during both seasons.

I am very excited to bring a fun and exciting camp to our community.  This will be the third consecutive year of running camps here in Mountain House.  Camps include daily instruction, drill work, game play, and fun activities as well (baseball card day, movie day, Olympic day, Award ceremony)!  Anyone is welcome to the camp (you do NOT have to be a MH resident).

Our camps are designed to help improve the overall skill level of your son/daughter.  Fundamentals will be taught and games will be played daily.  Drills and techniques are introduced and applied to promote learning and skill improvement.  Camps are staffed by current and incoming college players.

I have run camps for 20 years and draw on numerous experiences to give kids a memorable experience.  Camps are highly organized and include a healthy balance between developing your sons/daughters skill set while still having fun in the process.

Dates and Times
Camp 1 = Mon to Fri, June 01 – 05 (9 to 1:30 pm)
Camp 2 = Mon to Fri, June 08 – 12 (9 to 1:30 pm)

Location
Questa Elementary School Baseball Field
685 N Montebello St
Mountain House, CA 95391

Ages
5 to 12 years old (5 year old with baseball experience / tee ball experience are fine!)

Purpose
Purpose of the camp(s) is to provide baseball instruction and to give kids an opportunity improve their skills and knowledge of the game.

Goals
1) To LEARN – campers will be taught basic fundamentals and even intricacies of the game designed to improve performance and overall skill level

2) To PLAY – campers will be given numerous opportunities throughout the week to engage in drills and games; the more one plays, the better one gets; each camper will have 6-8 games per week

3) To HAVE FUN – in today’s world, sometimes too much emphasis is placed on “becoming the greatest”; having fun is essential to kids appreciating baseball and STAYING IN baseball

What skills are covered?
Skills will be taught and re-visited throughout the week to ensure learning and retention.  Skills covered will be:
1) Infield play / Outfield play
